Help
I've downloaded and installed CentraSite. When I try to start CentraSite, I am asked for a username and password. What should I use?
Before you have setup the starter kit, you can use the Windows user account you were logged in as when you performed the installation. For instance, while doing the installation you were logged in as ACME\john, use the ACME\john and associated password for logging into CentraSite.
Once you have set up the starter kit, use any one of the users added by setup – Markus, Max, Walther, Andrea, Petra, Roger, Joe, Crawford, Bill and Craig. Initial password for each of these users is CentraSite (case sensitive).
I used the correct username and password, but I am not able to log-in. What should I do?
Make sure CentraSite related services are running by checking Control Panel ->Administrative Tools ->Services. Also, make sure CentraSite database is running. To do that, launch CentraSite System Administration from Start -> All Programs -> Software AG ->CentraSite System Administration 8.0. (Use the Windows user account you were logged in as when you performed the installation.) Expand the tree Managed Hosts -> Your machine Name -> CentraSite -> Registry/Repository and make sure the status is online.
I want to setup the starter kit. What should I do?
The starter kit is a CentraSite database backup. Please execute the setup.bat file that comes along with the kit. Note that the Starter Kit assumes you have installed CentraSite at the default location C:\SoftwareAG in your machine and the CentraSite database is running on the default port 53305. In case this is not true, open the file setup.bat in a text editor and set the correct values for the variables CS_HOME, INSTALLED_MACHINE and DBURL.
The setup script also takes a backup of your existing database at STARTUP_KIT_HOME which is set to current directory. All the users mentioned in the Starter kit presentation are setup with the password “CentraSite”. If you wish to restore your original backup, you may do so via Start -> All Programs -> SoftwareAG -> CentraSite -> CentraSite System Administration 8.0. You can also refer to CentraSite product documentation
Please also review CS_CE_StarterKit.pdf that comes with the starter kit to understand more the contents of the Starter Kit.
